I'm a fan of Woody Allen. In "Deconstructing Harry" (1997) there's a nice scene when a couple is in a fight and the man aggressively reproaches his girlfriend: "Do you know what the problem with you is? You love too much! You love too easily!" I'm not sure if I can explain why this is so funny to me (especially out of context), but I like the dysfunctional humor. Everyone dreams of being loved, and then six months (or six years) after being in a relationship, you find yourself yelling at your partner that their problem is that they love you too much!
Yes, this is the paradox of love: being alone vs. being together. Both conditions somehow leave us feeling unsatisfied. In any case, both are stereotypes, because we're all human beings and, thus, all in the same boat.
